Pinflow Energy Storage, s.r.o. (PFES) is a new startup spun out from New Technologies Research Centre (University of West Bohemia) in October 2017 commercializing redox flow batteries. High stack efficiency (over 83 %) at 150 mA/cm² is the key know-how that is used in the development and construction of larger energy storage systems. Pinflow offers also leakproof tools for accurate testing of active RFB materials at precisely defined conditions with dozens of sensors. The company has its own competencies in battery system development, design and production of containerized vanadium redox flow batteries (200 m² facilities in Pilsen equipped for prototyping, small batch production and testing of stacks).

Pinflow brings the engineering scale-up know-how and is providing the key interconnection between research optimization of active components at laboratory scale and battery stack design and validation. With a hands-on approach, the company would like to transfer the resistance minimization experience from vanadium-based systems to new kinds of redox flow batteries.
