FLORES topical meeting: Electrode kinetics studies for RFB development – 22 September 2021

Following the FLORES discussions (fundamental section) that took place this summer, an online meeting took place on the 22nd of September 2021 at 9-12h CEST. The online meeting was focused on the electrode kinetics studies for RFB research and development. The discussion aimed to open new specific ways of collaboration and idea/data exchange between individual HORIZON projects in this area.

The online meeting was focused on the electrode kinetics studies for RFB research and development which should address some of the following points:

  • Optimal methodology for charge transfer kinetics evaluation (RDE, macro (felt) electorde vs. micro(single fibre) electrode, EIS vs. CV etc.).
  • mesoporous description of 3D electrodes structure (felts, webs, papers), effect of structure on elchem. respond.
  • physical/chemical characterization for surface functionalization and its effect on electrode performance.
  • performance, stability and degradation studies – standardized procedure for mutual comparability of the research results.

For the HIGREEW project, partners UWB and CNRS as well as coordinator CIC energiGUNE actively participated in this meeting to discuss research which has been done during the project.
